This is my second post to continue the Mac OS X Lion, 10.7 website HTML theme. I’ve finished coding the template in HTML and I have it available for download here. Please note that the wallpaper background is from Apple, and so is the Launchpad style, also featured on the ipad, grey crossed box; where one will find the icons for other pages. I did not create the icons they are stock ones, unfortunately I am no longer sure exactly where I got them from. This is the homepage only, I’m still trying to find time to make the other pages, as well as adding Apple style effects. The theme was inspired mainly by the new Mac OS X operating system: Lion. ‘The world’s most advanced OS’. Apple’s brilliant design and intuitive features are superb and I wanted to try and make a web template which frames that.  I will try and make a Mac OS X Lion WordPress theme based on this as well. If you have any questions or quieres, please leave a comment or use the contact form.

We’ve all been nervously looking forward to July, some of us may have obtained a copy of the Mac OS X Lion developer dvd, those people are most probably inflating themselves with future bewilderment when we can download the Lion from the App Store. Apple has already started to inflame the crowd by releasing update 10.6.9 to apparenty ready our macs for Lion, which is as we all know, going to be the best operating system yet, and so is the one after that.

I found myself in a lucky position to have Lion developer running on a spare hard drive; the immidiately imminante new features of the operating system were overwhelming, as well as the appeal of owning the yet to be released Lion. One of the most profound subtle changes that hit me the hardest were the iPhone style scrolling system and the small amount of grain added to the gui. The full screen mode on the major amount of applications included with Lion was quite useful, stopping the user getting sidetracked every few seconds.

Although the developer release looked theatrically beautiful it was still littered with bugs. Some java applications would not run and after I updated, iTunes failed to start. Switching back to snow Leopard was the only option however I will be going back to Lion the moment it is released.

Following my curiousity I had a look if anyone had yet released any photoshop psd of Lion with everything on layers and so on, unfortunately I couldn’t find anything so I took a load full of screenshots of Lion.

I noticed some people had created WordPress and HTML themes of snow leopard and tiger I had the idea of using the Lion and ipad iOS theme to make a wordpress theme. To do this I followed my usual design process. First develop the idea on paper; make the design using photoshop and fireworks (by Adobe); code in HTML, normally using espresso; add the wordpress tags using espresso (macrabbit).

Due to my problematic server I could had to put my wordpress installation in a separate folder (that’s why it’s sebwickenterprises.com/blog rather than without /blog). Obviously I couldn’t just leave visitors stranded in the void at sebwickenteprises.com so I needed a scare free redirect page that would not victimise any forlorn visitors.
